About me..

English and creative writing graduate from Birmingham, England. Self-published author of Motive: A Crime Novella and Autumn Reads: A collection of Six Short Stories. 'The Mental Health Nurse' a psychological thriller novel is due to be released in February 2024.

I read a vast amount of horror and psychological thrillers. I am a huge fan of Stephen King, John Marrs, Gail Honeyman, and Alice Sebold. My writing explores raw human emotion, and themes of poverty, mental illness and feminism feature prominently.

My Books

My Debut Novella 'Motive' was self-published through Amazon in August 2023. I had been mulling over the idea of a murder mystery set in my home town of Birmingham for quite some time. I was inspired by crime and science fiction dramas that I enjoy watching, notably, 'Time', 'Line of Duty,' and 'The Power'. 'Motive' is written from multiple character points of view, this allows the reader to be fully immersed in each characters motivations and plight. Shortly after Motive was published on Amazon, I began working on short stories from genres that were out of my comfort zone. I have never been a fan of 'romance' novels, however, I wanted to challenge myself to try something different. I had the idea for a homeless army veteran, who falls in love and turns his life around. This story became 'Charlie Sprattel', which I have been told is the best short story in my collection 'Autumn Reads.' Charlie Sprattel was quickly followed by a science fiction story, Author No.3, which was short listed for a fiction competition, and I included a horror story 'The Overnight Success' which I wrote whilst at university in 2013. 'The Anger Issue'  is loosely based on a movie 'The Line' starring Mel Gibson, and the last two stories  of the collection, 'The Wishing Tree' (a fantasy story) and 'Just Love Me' (a romance story) came to me one sleepless night. I pulled the six stories together to make a unique collection of stories. 'Autumn Reads' was then adapted into an audio book by the very experienced and talented voice coach, Peter McGiffen. I am currently working on a revenge/psychological thriller 'The Mental Health Nurse' due to be released in February 2024. The Mental Health Nurse focuses on Ellie, a beautiful, charming, well respected nurse, with a penchant for killing men she meets on dating sites.
